Basketball cheat

I took this photo a while ago, cus i walked past this basketball court near my house and got this idea XD
I decided to use it for my "mixed media project" as part of my college course.

Nikki came out a lot better than i expected, Kaori came out horribly.
and i know that Nikki looks absolutely enormous compared to the tiny basketball net but i decided there wasn't much i could do to fix it without skrewing it all up lol.
the basketball looks crap too. i'm tempted to somehow get a basketball and go there, place it in the scene, photograph it, then go home and crop it out XD
I tried my best to get it to fit in.
i liked the idea of there being a real basketball there but floating in mid-air (obviously with no one holding it lol) and comic lines making it look like it was bouncing from Nikki basketing it. it's a good mixture of photography and drawing

I spent quite a long time trying to decide on which character to do. I almost did Xai and shida in the picture but wanted them both to be girls. I thought about Skye but she has two side character friends to choose from and to use only one would feel weird (and i only wanted one) i was gonna do Amako and Kaori but then i jsut decided it would suit Nikki more, which i knew it would, but i only hadn't decided on her sooner cus she isn't really linked to my other characters. but i thought, "Hec, i can just link her here".
my first idea of characters was the new ones from that manga I'm planning, Kirin the naga and Satsuki. they would have been PERFECT for the parts... but Kirin is way too small XD
Although her pose would probably be quite adorable XD
It would be more like her hanging from the basket and looking over her shoulder like "Tadaaa" xD
I just didn't want to redraw the pose.
especially since I had to do it on the computer with tablet, which i hate.

Originally, since i did such an awesome job on Nikki's anatomy, she was gonna be topless (with no nipples or anything), but even that was too controversial to do so I managed to give her a top that didn't change her body shape.
