The sun shone down over the world of Pokémon, sparkling off the rushing water of rivers, gazing its warmth down onto brilliantly colourful flowers... a foot crushed those flowers as Tetsunosuke Shimabara walked along a path one day. He was a young trainer who wanted only one thing, the strongest of Pokémon.
He walked with focus, but also felt relaxed as he gazed out over a flower field, his eyes following the patterns caused by the wind, like waves through a sea of flowers. He didn't particularly care about trivial things like flowers, but he did enjoy the soothing effect this nice calm atmosphere had as it helped him concentrate. He certainly preferred this to the noise, busy streets of the towns and cities.
Tetsu has caught three Pokémon so far, an Eevee, a Houndoom, and a Feraligatr that he had received as a starter.
As he walked he began thinking about different Pokémon that he had heard about. "Hmmm... maybe I should try and get a Tyranitar... those look useful. Although I'll have to ask where to find one."
As he walked, he occasionally encountered wild Pokémon. A Furret was the first to appear today. It was unusual to see an evolved Pokémon in the wild where he was, but he didn't care, he deemed the Furret unworthy and sent out his Eevee to battle it. After a long battle the Furret fainted, Eevee had lost a fair bit of health, but Tetsu was impressed at its determination, so he praised Eevee a job well done and returned him and kept walking. He was a little annoyed when his Pokémon were weak, but he knew struggles were the only way his Pokémon would get strong. As long as he had strength, that was all that mattered. Although having to go back to a Pokémon center or wait around and rest until his Pokémon were healed continuously was becoming quite a bother.
He traveled along, fighting more Pokémon as they appeared, and then after a while of getting lost, he found himself in a small clearing in a forest. He could see a bunch of Scyther in the distance.
He healed his Pokémon with his last few potions as one of the Scyther came over to them.
"SCyyyther!" it screeched at him. He threw out Houndoom, knowing it would be a good match.
"Houndoom, use ember!" Scyther dodged it with graceful speed and slashed at Houndoom. Houndoom was blown back but stood its ground and glared at Scyther.
"On second thoughts, don't want to kill it... use bite!"
Houndoom barked and ran at Scyther. It went to bite down on the Pokémon but Scyther quickly jumped to the air, using its wings to easily rise above Houndoom, buzzing as they did, before it slashed down on Houndoom's back and causing it to faint.
"Grrr... you're a tough one" he pulled out another pokéball "Sure could use you on my team!" he brushed his turquoise fringe from his face and threw the pokéball. "Go, Eevee!" his Eevee was sent out; knowing Scyther's grass moves would be effective against Feraligatr. If Scyther was fast, then he'd fight speed with speed. "Eevee, use tackle!" Scyther lunged down at Eevee, stabbing its blade into the ground just after Eevee jumped forward to avoid it. Eevee then jumped up and hit the Scyther in the chest and knocked it back. Scyther got up and used cross-cut, slashing its blades in an X shape, blasting out the X as a fast moving cutting wind.
"Eevee, use agility!" Eevee ran towards Scyther, dancing back and forth with blinding speed. "Now use headbutt!" Eevee jumped to avoid the attack, and twirled round in the air and slammed its head down on the Scyther as it tried to copy Eevee's move of dashing forward to avoid, slamming the Scyther's head onto the ground. The Scyther looked unconscious, so Tetsu seized his chance and threw a pokéball. It hit Scyther and sucked it in after enveloping it in red light. The pokéball wobbled on the ground for a moment as the Pokémon struggled within it, the air splitting with tension. The tension was washed way with the soft *ping* sound that came from the pokéball, indicating the capture was successful.
"Yes! Another one down! Good job Eevee, you impressed me." Eevee smiled back at him
With his new comrade, he continued to travel forward, after getting to another town and healing at the Pokémon center, he went exploring around the city and found a thunder stone in an alleyway somewhere, when he saw it his face lit up as he clasped it in his hands as though it could be stolen away again any moment. After a few long moments of gazing into its deep colour, he snapped back to reality and summoned Eevee.
"I've got a gift for you." he touched Eevee with the thunder stone and Eevee made a cute little sound and lit up bright white, slowly changing shape, and became an Jolteon.
"Yes!" he smiled at his Pokémon and gave it a little stroke before returning it again.
He continued training his Pokémon as he went along, but never really found any more Pokémon to catch.
Eventually, he ran into a Pokémon he just couldn't seem to beat. It was a wild Ursaring, and it had flattened his Houndoom, and managed to knock out his Feraligatr. It was stronger than most Ursaring, but he felt he would rather grab the precious experience points for his Pokémon than catch it.
"Jolteon, use agility!" Jolteon darted around the field, running large rings around the Ursaring. The Ursaring charged a hyper beam and shot it at Jolteon, but Jolteon jumped and avoided the surprisingly well-aimed attack.
"Good Jolteon! Now, use thunder bolt!" Jolteon stopped and used the opportunity from Ursaring's needing to catch its breath after the hyper beam to charge a thunder bolt. It shot jolts of electricity at Ursaring and shocked it, but then Ursaring ran at Jolteon and went to swipe at it.
Jolteon jumped, but Ursaring had predicted its movements and hit it. Jolteon flew back and landed at his feet. Tetsu returned him, and placed the pokéball back on his belt.
"He's weak, finish him off Scyther!" he sent out his Scyther. Scyther headed towards Ursaring, which thrusted at it, but Scyther flew around its attack with great speed.
"Use cut!" Scyther slashed at the Ursaring. The Ursaring thrusted at it again but Scyther backed away and avoided it. "Use cross cut!" Scyther slashed its blades out into in X and sent a blast of cutting wind at the Ursaring, which struck it hard in the chest and blew it back.
Finally, Ursaring lay defeated. "Yes! Good one Scyther!" Scyther screeched with victory, and then began to glow. "H- Huh? I- its evolving!"
Scyther slowly changed shape, and eventually, when the white light surrounding it dissipated, it revealed a shining, bright red new armor, huge claws on its hands, and a much more majestic looking appearance. It had evolved into a Scissor
"Alright!" Tetsu looked happy that Scyther had evolved. Scizor looked into his eyes as they gleamed, Tetsu could tell Scizor was going to be strong. Scizor looked at that gleam and knew it was because of his strength and usefulness; he enjoyed seeing his master smile, so he decided to be as strong as he could be.
Just then, there was a familiar roar as another Ursaring appeared from the bushes.
"Aw crap! This one looks just like the last one!"
Scizor glared menacingly at the Ursaring over his shoulder.
"W- Well, I'm not gonna outrun it! Uhh... use cross-cut!" Scizor crouched, pulling back his weight before springing with both speed and power at the Ursaring; he had never seen a Pokémon move like that before! Usually Scyther would just fly at the enemy. This Scizor was a whole different thing! Scizor moved to the Ursaring at lightning speed, the Ursaring managed to throw a punch at Scizor, but it was easily avoided, as Scizor danced around to the side, under its arm with blinding agility, and then folded its arms and blasted them out, slashing Ursaring. It flew back and landed on the ground unconscious.
Tetsu just stood in awe for a few seconds, then smiled and looked at Scizor with absolute astonishment.
"That... was... AMAZING!"
Scizor looked happy and went back over to him.
With his new ally in hand, Tetsu, Scizor, Jolteon, Feraligatr and Houndoom challenged gym after gym, and many trainers along the way.
He showed no signs of loosing. He liked his Jolteon very much as it had been his favorite for a while, but he used Scizor almost all the time, and hardly ever used Houndoom or Feraligatr any more.
His Pokémon grew stronger and stronger, and he grew close to challenging the last few gyms. Along the line he was fighting a trainer who was proving quite the challenge. The trainer's Heracross just knocked out his Feraligatr after it dodged its hydro pump. He sent out Houndoom
"Use flame wheel!" Houndoom ran at Heracross and dived forward, spinning and engulfing itself in fire as he did, the spinning flame wheel hit Heracross and knocked it out.
"Good! Return!" the other trainer sent out a Furret, and he sent out Jolteon. The two began a fast-paced battle, dodging each other's blows and striking each other. Eventually, Jolteon knocked out the foe with thunder bolt. He smiled and returned Jolteon.

"This isn't over" the trainer spat. He sent out a Nidoking just as Tetsu sent out Scizor, his trump card.
"Scizor, use Cross-cut!" Scizor couched and sprang at the enemy with his usual passion and speed.
"Nidoking, he's going do dodge to the right, fake a punch and counter him then!" Nidoking aimed a punch at Scizor. Scizor dodged, dancing around to the right. Just then, Nidoking's hand grabbed Scizor, and it pulled him up and then threw him down into the ground again.
"Use Poison sting!" the trainer shouted.
"Scizor, get out of there!" Tetsu yelled. Scizor beat his wings and glided along the ground on its back to escape the sharp needles that shot into the ground in his wake.
The Nidoking used it again and Scizor braced himself as he took the poison sting attack.
"Argh! Feraligatr would be better against this thing... or even Houndoom... but if I switch now he'll have an advantage!" he focused, trying to think of a strategy.
Scizor avoided a few strikes, but then was hit hard and stumbled back and was now standing just in front of Tetsu.
Scizor panted heavily, weak from taking all the attacks.
"Damm... I can't switch now! Hmm... I'll have to... I'll just have to have Scizor stand his ground until he's beaten, then I'll have an opportunity to attack."
"Nidoking! Use hyper beam!" the other trainer shouted.
Nidoking slammed its feet into the ground like a sumo wrestler, and gradually began to build up power in its mouth.
"Grrr... Scizor, don't let that hit me, stand your ground."
He let out Feraligatr and pulled out a super potion and started treating his wounds.
Scizor nodded and held his claws up in a defensive pose, ready to take the attack.
The Nidoking pulled its head back, and then thrusted it forwards, and in a powerful blast, an orange energy beam blasted out towards Scizor.
The hyper beam struck Scizor hard in the chest. Tetsu looked up, and could see his noble Pokémon, with a huge burst of energy around it as Scizor did exactly as instructed and stood his ground. Scizor shut his eyes and a tear fell from them.

The attack ended, and Scizor stood, and slowly fell backwards onto the floor
"Scizor!" Tetsu yelled and ran in front of his Pokémon, Feraligatr stood up.
"Feraligatr! Now's your chance, while it's tired!" Feraligatr ran towards the enemy and stopped in the middle of the field. Tetsu stood next to him "Use hydro pump!"
The Pokémon did as instructed and blasted out a powerful jet of water that struck Nidoking in the face and knocked it out.
"Awwww man, looks like I lost..." the trainer rubbed the back of his head and walked up to Tetsu and shook his hand and left after returning his Nidoking.
Tetsu: "Good work Feraligatr... return." he sent Feraligatr back to his pokéball, and then turned around to tend to his dear Scizor.
But when he turned

Scizor was not there.

"S- Scizor...? w- Where is he...? SCIZOR?!" he shouted, hoping, wishing, begging that his Pokémon would hop out of some bushes somewhere... but nothing... it didn't feel like he ran away either... he couldn't explain the feeling to himself, but it felt like his Pokémon had simply... disappeared.
He searched the area for days on end, his Pokémon helped too. They scoured the area and he asked all the trainers in the area if they had seen it, and some even lended a helping hand. Even one of the gym leaders joined in the search, but they never found anything. When he told them what happened, a few of them shot him a dirty look when he mentioned he had sacrificed his Pokémon simply to have an advantage, to get the first hit, simply to win. The gym leader commented that winning should NEVER be taken over the lives of your Pokémon. HE walked away in a huff, kicking the ground as he did. How could his precious Pokémon have disappeared? And Scizor was his strongest too. Now he'll have to find a replacement. He was upset that now e didn't have his trump card to back him up. He was also huffing at how the other trainers judged him. He was merely using strategy to win, that's all. He didn't realize how heartless it was.
Sooner or later, he had gotten over the disappearance of his Pokémon, and had strengthened his others. Back to three Pokémon again, Jolteon had become his strongest. He shrugged off the whole event and continued looking for stronger Pokémon, prepared to flatten anything and anyone on his way.
Rumors swirled about a mystical place high on a mountain, where it is rumored that a legendary Pokémon may lay in wait. When word of this reached Tetsu's ear he asked someone about it, intrigued. They told him the place was called "the hill of lost souls". He found out more about it and set out there, hoping to find a powerful Pokémon. But somehow, he felt something was drawing him there. Maybe it was destiny that he meet an incredible Pokémon and he get stronger.
To get there, he journeyed through a few more towns; he even ended up challenging the gym in one of them with his three Pokémon. He struggled through the battle and came out victorious.
He stopped to ask someone about the directions to the hill of lost should, and he listened, engaged in the conversation. Too engaged to realize someone was stalking him. Behind a wall in an alleyway behind them was a man dressed in black with a waist coat with a big red R on the back. He watched them and listened carefully at what was being said.
"Thanks." Tetsu said and walked off. He had healed his Pokémon and headed out to find this place.
He was walking through the fields by a forest the next day when a smoke ball suddenly came down from nowhere. It bounced off the ground in front of him and exploded. Just then he felt a tug at his waist and felt his belt slip off.
He growled and ran out of the smoke cloud and looked up to see a man sitting on a flying machine that had propellers that span like a helicopter. He was holding his belt with an extendable claw-type thing.
"Wahahaha! You can't get in my way when you don't have your Pokémon!" the man gloated
"HEY! Give them back!" Tetsu spat
"Never! The man replied. "I'm after that legendary Pokémon too you see, and I can't have some little punk get in my way!"
Tetsu growled. "You better give my Pokémon back, or else!"
The man smirked "Maybe I'll dump these pathetic Pokémon once I'm done. Then you can get them back." he flew off.
"Damm you! You are NOT getting away!"
He ran after the man and saw the red R on his back.
"That logo... he's from that criminal organization, Team Rocket!" he thought.
Tetsu followed desperately, refusing to give in to exhaustion as he followed the man. Fortunately, the thief led him straight towards the place he was looking for. He kept his eye on the sky, watching his target, occasionally glancing down to keep an eye out for roots or other such obstacles that could trip him.
He eventually found himself at the foot of a long set of stone stairs, the top he couldn't see, as it was shrouded in mist. He stopped, panting heavily.
"That guy went in here somewhere."
He slowly began to walk up the cold, hard stone steps into the mist. before long he couldn't remember how far he's walked, he couldn't see the ground, or where he was going... but he eventually made it to the top of the large hill... he found himself in a shrine, a monument.
"What is this place?" he thought to himself, a drop of cold sweat running down his cheek. he looked around, the fog was so thick he couldn't see anything, the only thing moving was a blue flame flickering on a lone candle in the center of the shrine... he began to feel heavy, like gravity was increasing, like the very air got too thin to breathe, like some malicious conscience was bearing down on him. He shook his head. "No, this is no time to be scared. Gotta find that thief..."
It felt like everything fell even more silent as Tetsu started looking around, the silence piercing his ears. He tried to let out a scream but nothing came out, it was as though he were deaf. Then suddenly, a sound, a voice rung in his ears, echoing.
"...Heartless..." the voice spoke, it echoed in and echoed out, the voice sounding dry, weak, broken. He found he was able to breathe again and gasped with air, relived he could hear his own breathing again. "What... was that?" he turned to a side path he could see and moved towards it. It was a tall stone aqueduct that ran along the top of the hill. He walked along it and found it was shorter than he thought, and it was connecting to another similar shrine. As he walked into it, he noticed a lone candle with a blue flame like before. He looked around, and suddenly that silence as cold and painful as death fell on him again, and the same echoing voice spoke again.
"...you... heartless..." it spoke. As the silence lifted Tetsu span around, glaring, towards the staircase leading partly down the hill again. "WHO'S THERE?!" he yelled, expecting a response. "If this is some kind of sick joke then I'm not laughing!" he walked down the stairs onto a flat grassy part and headed along another long aqueduct. He walked for a while, it was longer than he expected. He arrived at another shrine, this time the candle wasn't lit and it felt somewhat lighter than the last place. He sighed and looked down a short set of steps and saw the thief hunched over, fiddling with his pokéballs.
"HEY!!" Tetsu yelled "Give them back right now!!"
The man looked up. "Ah! You! So you followed me... stay out of my way!" he threw a pokéball and a Rhyhorn came out. "Rhyhorn, use headbutt!" Rhyhorn charged at Tetsu, but Tetsu used the advantage of higher ground to jump on Rhyhorn's head as it thrusted up at him, using the momentum to jump over and land next to the thief. Quickly, Tetsu grabbed hold of the belt and yanked it out of his hands.
"H- How dare you!" the thief looked shocked. "Well then I'll just have to beat you!"
"Not a chance!" Tetsu glared. He sent out Feraligatr which landed onto of Rhyhorn just as it had charged back at Tetsu again, crushing it into the soft ground. "Use hydro pump." he said coldly, and Feraligatr blasted the huge jet of water directly onto Rhyhorn. The thief snarled and withdrew his fainted Pokémon and sent out an Ampharos. Ampharos used thunderbolt and scored a direct hit on Feraligatr and knocked it out. Tetsu growled and sent out Houndoom. He had Houndoom use megahorn, and it ran ferociously at the enemy and headbutted it, knocking it out. The thief growled again and withdrew his Pokémon.
"Grrr! I'll win yet! Just you wait you haven't beaten me! That legendary Pokémon will be mine!" the thief smirked and ran off down another aqueduct.
"Hey! Get back here!" he ran after him after returning Houndoom.
After he left, the candle on the shrine lit up with a blue flame.
Tetsu caught up with the thief, who was standing by another shrine, which had a candle in the middle like the others, but also had three candles on each side of the small plateau it was on. The thief turned to look at him.
"You'll regret meddling with team rocket!" he held up his pokéball and Tetsu held up his, preparing to fight."
"...Heartless..." the voice suddenly came again, that deep, penetrating silence deafening them again. Tetsu covered his ears and tried in vain to scream, he could see the team rocket thief doing the same, also making no sound.
"...You... are... Heartless." the voice echoed.
As the silence left, the team rocket member panted and held his throat. "Who- what was happening just then...?"
"I... feel strange..." Tetsu gritted his teeth, sweating again. Suddenly, the candles all lit up in pairs, the two closest to them, then the next two, then the next two, and finally the middle one.
After an eerie moment of dread, everything started to go dark, the blinding white fog being drawn into corrupting darkness.
Tetsu looked at his feet and saw blood running down the aqueduct. He yelped and jumped to the side, his shoes coated in blood already. The team rocket thief looked just as scared as he.
Just then... he heard the thief stammering.
"Wh- w- wh- what... what is... that?!" the thief was looking towards the shrine, his eyes dilating, his voice riddled with terror.
Tetsu looked up in shock, fear, relentless terror, as he gazed upon something he never thought he'd see again.
Standing before him...

Was Scizor.

Tetsu knew it wasn't just any Scizor, he could tell it was his. Scizor was floating above the ground, his chest pushed forward and the rest of his limbs hanging limp. balls of purple fire surrounded him, his once vibrent armor was a dull, pale colour, covered in cracks, his legs were miss-shapen and spiky, his claws looked morbid, they had way more teeth than they should, and looked genually evil, a dark blood was dripping from their 'mouths', the eyes glowing fiercely.. Scizor's head was hung back, its eyes blank white, like it was dead. And what got him the most, was his chest. Scizor had a huge, gaping, jagged hole going right through his chest to the other side. The colour around the hole looked like it had been washed away, it made the hole look like it was burned through, burned by a powerful blast of intense energy. Like a hyper beam.
The thief screamed and ran away, leaving Tetsu to stand and stare in horror at this morbid Pokémon he used to call his own.
He looked into Scizor's cold, dead eyes, as it merely floated there.
Then the piercing silence hit him again, but Tetsu didn't double over clasping his ears as he did before, even though the pressure was so intense he felt he could be crushed by it any second. He didn't scream, even though he was utterly terrified. He didn't have an ounce of strength in him, he just stared up into Scizor's eyes, and his pupils were shaking, sweat running down his face.
"You are heartless..." the voice echoed in his ears. He realized now this was Scizor's voice he was hearing.
He opened his mouth slowly to speak, and surprisingly enough, sound came out, even in the dead silence. "Wh-... wha... why...?" he mumbled with a weak voice.
"You sacrificed me. I was supposed to be your strongest, your favorite. I was going to outshine all others... but you tossed me aside." Scizor spoke to him, now able to speak freely, but his voice still had an aura of death and weakness to it, an arcane, ghost-like voice.
"Wh- what do you want? I- I had no choice! I- I had to-"
"No... You don't see loosing as an option. If you really didn't want to risk your precious Pokémon taking a hit, if you couldn't bear your chances of loosing dropping a few inches, then you should have conceived defeat. But no... You threw me away, only to save yourself... to save your dignity. Nothing more. Was that all I was to you?"
"N- No... I... you WERE my favorite! b- But Pokémon can just be healed at the Pokémon center! So it didn't matter!" Tetsu pleaded
"No... Damage dealt from each other can be haled... what I took was a blow from you. It struck me right in the heart. You can heal wounds, but you can't heal a Pokémon once its heart is broken."
Tetsu looked at him in disbelief. "Wh- what are you talking about?"
"It's a game to you, isn't it... you humans take Pokémon for granted, when you have no idea of what you're dealing with... we're just toys to you."
"I- I didn't mean... I- I was just trying to use my head!"
"Of course... you were using strategy... using your Pokémon as mere pawns. That's all I was to you... a weapon... well you were right... I'm not a toy. I'm a weapon."
Tears ran down Tetsu's eyes. He was so scared he couldn't breathe, and he felt he could cough up his heart any moment.
The fire turned red, and the glowing eyes on his claws narrowed, looking angry now.
"P- Please! I didn't want this!" Tetsu begged.
"You toyed with Pokémon's hearts..." Scizor spoke coldly
"N- No! I- I-" Tetsu stuttered.
"Now... ... I am heartless. You broke mine, so I'll take yours"
Tetsu winced in fear "Y- you can't! You can't kill me!" his eyes snapped as he realized about his companions.
"HOUNDOOM! G- GET HIM!" he pulled up Houndoom's pokéball. And twitched slightly when nothing happened. He looked at the pokéball in his outstretched hand... and suddenly...
A long trickle of crimson blood dripped from it.
He yelped and dropped it. The other pokéballs fell off his belt, rolling across the floor, leaving a trail of blood as they did.
"M- My Pokémon! What is happening?"
Scizor looked down at him, one of the gaps in the colourlessness on his armor looked like a tear running down his eye, a tear of blood.
Scizor slowly floated towards him. Tetsu looked behind him and saw that the blood aqueduct was gone.
He slowly turned his head again to look back up at his heartless Pokémon. Scizor was now above him, looking down at him.
Tetsu's heart was pounding so fast it could burst the dead silence that was about to burst his eardrums. Scizor's cold dead eyes dominating his vision hazed by tears of terror, his body going numb and unresponsive, the disgusting taste of blood in his mouth. His senses were betraying him like he betrayed Scizor.
All he could hear was the beating of his heart, and a faint constant scream in the background. Scizor moved one of his claws in front of Tetsu's face and opened it, nothing but pitch-blackness inside as black blood dripped from it.
"N- No... n-n- no..." Tetsu pleaded
" Tetsunosuke Shimabara..." Scizor spoke, with a voice far colder than before, the flames of the candles turned black, now roaring fiercely.
"You…"
"N- N- NO!" Tetsu cried
"Will..."
"NOOO!"
"Become..."
"PLEASE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" he screamed as everything went black with a sudden piercing sound.

"HEARTLESS"
Okay i spent two days writing this xD
This is a Pokémon creepy pasta story i wrote to go with this pic: [link]

Anyway this is based on those moments in the game that most of is, heck all of us i bet at some point, when we sacrafice one of our pokémon for a small advantage... when you leave your pokémon out to get hammered just so you can use some hyper potions on your other pokemon, when you send out that lvl 3 zigzagoon you only caught for it's pickup ability to use a revive, knowing it's going to die in one hit.
i do it a lot too, instead of switching out your pokemon and give the enemy a free attack, let your pokémon die just to get the first hit.

So i figured pokémon would be a bit pissed off about this, so that's where this story came from

I'm sorry it got a little long, i put lots of detail into the pokemon fights and i wanted to drag it out to really get the reader in, i felt if i started saying stuff like "he sent out jolteon and it beat the enemy" it would feel too rushed and would confuse the reader, but i did feel the morbid part at the end was too short in comparison because of it, but there wasn't any way i could think off to drag out the ending.

oh well i still kinda like it. enjoy everyone!

Wow. This story took a turn for the worst like how the roadrunner can turn at a right angle on a moment of noticing. Good job though.
